Rovio gave the world a Valentine’s Day gift today by announcing that the Facebook Angry Birds app has finally arrived. Angry Birds on Facebook brings new Faccebook-only levels and added social and competitive elements to the viral game. Angry Birds Facebook players can play against their friends, share their top scores, and give each mystery gifts called power-ups that are tools to improve the chances of winning a game.
The added feature of power-ups to the game keeps things interesting. As of now, there are five different power-ups that a player can receive on the Facebook version of Angry Birds: Sling Scope, Super Seeds, Birdquake, and King Sling. Sling Slope allows you to use a laser to pinpoint where you angry bird will land once it is launched. Super Seeds lets you increase the size of your birds. Birdquake lets you create an earthquake that severely damages the defenses of the pigs. And King Sling lets you pick your own slinging speed and style. You can give power-ups to your friends, earn them as you play, and even buy them.
If you play Angry Birds on Facebook at any point during the next three days (February 14 to February 16), you’ll get 14 complimentary power-ups. So, check out the new Facebook Angry Birds app soon!
